Easy Healthy Granola

A quick and easy granola for your family.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cups Oats
  • 1 Cup Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup Chia Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 3/4 Cup Coconut Flakes Unsweetened is best
  • Dried Fruit (Optional) Add as much or little as looks good to you
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup Wheat Germ
  • 1/3 Cup Flax Meal
  • 2 Egg Whites Optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Toss together oats, nuts, almonds, chia, salt, wheat germ, and flax.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon
  4. Pour the liquid mixture over the dry, and stir it up to coat
  5. If you want a lumpier granola, beat two egg whites until frothy, then fold your mixture into the egg whites. If you like a smoother granola skip to the next step.
  6. Spread the mixture on a parchment lined baking sheet. If you want clumpier granola you can smoosh together whatever size clumps you like.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes
  8. Sprinkle the coconut over the mixture and bake for an additional five minutes
  9. Remove from the oven and leave on the pan to cool.
  10. Store or freeze in an airtight container
